February 19, 2010: A note from President Terry Goodrum
Greetings Neighbors,
A good time was had by the members that were able to attend the February 4th winter gathering at Bogey's. Dorothy and Mary Jane agreed to schedule another get together for March. **The next gathering will be at The Good Life Cafe, 220 Main St. South, on Thursday, March 4th at 5:30pm. Please RSVP with Dorothy or Mary Jane.**
A brief meeting was held to discuss the following topics:
1) Buoys: 2 new buoys will be installed near "Goat Island" for boater and swimmer safety. Glen Wolters will handle these buoys.
2) Adopt-A-Highway: It was suggested we adopt Hwy 50 (it is 2.5 miles long from CSAH 44 to CR152).
The motion was made by Dorothy Noyes to join this program and seconded by Carol Luukkonen, following some discussion this matter was accepted by all attendees. Dennis Goodrum offered to host a proposed pick-up picnic which will be open to all members. **The permit paperwork was submitted on Feb. 5 and our request has been approved. Dates and details will be posted on the website.**
3) Residents Lake Map: This project involves replacing any previous maps with the names and locations of all current owners. Following the earlier map design each home is given a number, starting at the Inlets and going all the way around. No addresses will be used. Barb Gast, June Goetzke, and Susan Wolters have volunteered to begin work on this sometime in the Spring. 4) Additional Becker Co. Shoreland pamphlets: As discussed earlier, 50 pamphlets will be purchased and distributed to our non-Association neighbors as a courtesy. They will be picked up at the April COLA meeting and distributed throughout the summertime.
5) Future Gatherings: Bobbie Wagner asked about having some association activities on the weekends. It was agreed that was a good idea for future events.
