Two Inlets Lake Information
There is a wealth of information at the DNR website. Follow this link:
http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/lakefind/index.html and type "Two Inlets" in the Find a Lake box in the upper left corner.
There are maps and general lake information, including lake clarity and water quality.

Fish Stocking
8/22/07 - A message from Doug Kingsley of the DNR:
Congratulations on getting the Lake Assn. going, and good move getting affiliated with COLA. Strength in numbers.
As far as walleye stocking, Two Inlets has been part of a statewide research project, trying to improve our walleye stocking strategies. That project is evaluating best results from size at stocking by comparing fry (newly hatched), "fryling" (~1-3"), and fingerling (~4-8") and best results of various fingerling stocking rates (1/2, 1 or 2 pounds per littoral acre).
So, over the last six years (3 stockings), Two Inlets has been stocked with
walleye as follows:
2001 - fingerlings, 1 lb./Littoral Acre - 170 lbs. were stocked
2003 - "frylings", ~155 fish/Littoral Acre - 26,350 were stocked
2005 - fingerlings, ~1/2 lb./Littoral Acre - 93 lbs. were stocked
The various stockings have been completed for that research project, but we
still have one more sample to collect adult fish to evaluate abundance from
the various stockings before the results can be compiled and evaluated. I
would be willing to come to a future meeting of your lake association and
explain the project and results, at some point after it is completed.
Prior to 2001 we were stocking Two Inlets with walleye fingerlings at a rate
of 1 lb./Littoral Acre (~170 lbs. total) in odd numbered years. Another
research project suggested that a rate of 1 lb./LA is probably the most cost
efficient, but we might be able to get some additional return, albeit at
might higher costs, if we stock at higher rates up to 2 lb./LA.
So, for 2007 we are proposing to stock walleye fingerlings at a rate of 2
lb./LA (340 lbs. total). We will continue stocking that size and rate in
odd numbered years unless the stockings do not appear to be contributing
significantly to the walleye population, if other fish populations
(particularly yellow perch) are being negatively affected, or if results of
the research project suggest a different strategy might produce better
results.
